| Worked as a student employee for the Arnovick Software Engineering Center at Chico State, on a two stage project for Hewlett-Packard. First stage was to do a straight port of a phone bill analysis system written in JCL and SAS running on a IBM mainframe running MVS, to HP servers running HP-UX. We took the JCL and ported to Korn Shell scripts, most of the SAS was left alone except where it was necessary to add some functionality or where there was changes in the Unix environment. Second half of the project was a complete rewrite and simplification. More emphasis was placed on implementing the project in SAS, and eliminating shells scripts, for increased performance. Installed Oracle on an HP-UX workstation. | ||
